Today is the day!

Today I board my flight for Phoenix, and then on to NYC for my two day orientation before I take on Russia! It has been a crazy past couple of days between packing, saying goodbye to all my friends, and finishing my last week of junior year. About a week and a half ago I was notified of my host family and I’m very excited to meet them! I have a 16 year old host sister which I am very excited about. Throughout the past couple days my friends have definitely spoiled me with attention and I’m going to miss them so much. (I had to attach some photos of my lovely friends who treated me with yogurt and surprised me with breakfast). I am still not extremely confident with learning Russian but I am getting there and will be reviewing all my vocab and grammar rules on the plane! I have been waiting for this day since I first submitted my application back in the beginning of November and it’s finally here! I’m leaving for the airport in about 4 hours and I have never been so nervous and excited for something in my entire life. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey, it means the world to me. My next post will probably come from either New York or Russia so stay posted for
information to come. до свидания!

I’m leaving to study abroad, too, and I’m so nervous!! That’s so cool that you’re going to Russia– the culture is so interesting, there. Love your blog!
