Over Labor Day weekend my friend Madi took me home with her to Minnesota. I had never been to Minnesota before and was excited to go to a new place. Also, being from Nevada I don’t get to go home on shorter breaks like this so I was incredibly thankful when she invited her home with me. The best part about this weekend was that Madi was going to be taking me to the STATE FAIR!!!! I can’t really explain why, but for some reason going to the Minnesota State fair has actually been on my bucket list for quite some time. I never went to the state fair in Nevada (if there is one??) and I always saw the Minnesota one on the food channel showing off the crazy food you could order (giant bucket of cookies). Safe to say, I had a hay day. Madi and I both knew it was going to be one of those days where we consume a ridiculous amount of calories and we made a mental list of all the things we wanted to eat that day. By the end of the day we had eaten cheese curds, fried oreos, giant buttered corn, a turkey leg, a pork chop on a stick, bucket of french fries, yummy lemonade, and a GIANT BUCKET OF SWEET MARTHA’S COOKIES. Throughout the day we witnessed a cow give birth, went to the talent show, and Madi and I went on a sketchy carnival ride. It was the most perfect day and I’m so happy Madi and her family took me in for the weekend.
